DFRobot 5-in-1 — moisture, temp, EC, salinity, TDS.
The DFRobot SEN0601 is a 5-in-1 RS-485 soil probe reporting moisture, temperature, EC, salinity and TDS over Modbus-RTU on RS-485 at 9600 bps, 8N1, on DC 5–30 V. This guide documents 13 registers, default Modbus address 1. It does not report pH and N-P-K. For those on the same bus: pH → DFRobot SEN0603; N-P-K → DFRobot SEN0605. Sankhya firmware profile: DFROBOT_5in1.
The DFRobot SEN0601 is natively decoded by Sankhya's DFROBOT_5in1 profile. Moisture, signed temperature, EC, salinity and TDS are read at 9600 baud and delivered to the free cloud dashboard with their units and sensor identity intact. The node also knows which later registers are conversion coefficients and calibration offsets, preventing them from appearing as accidental telemetry.
This combination is useful wherever water content and conductivity need to be interpreted together: an orchard root zone, greenhouse bed, nursery container, home garden, salinity trial or a crop grown in coco, perlite or another solid substrate. A rising EC value in a drying medium is not the same observation as the same EC after irrigation, and a shared timeline makes that distinction easier to see. Salinity and TDS are conversion outputs associated with conductivity, not independent chemical analyses. For a hydroponic reservoir, use a probe specifically approved for continuous liquid immersion.
The live block is straightforward: 0000H moisture ×0.1%, 0001H signed temperature ×0.1 °C, 0002H EC in µS/cm, 0003H salinity in mg/L and 0004H TDS in mg/L. Registers 0022H–0024H hold conversion coefficients, while 0050H onward contains calibration values. Sankhya charts the measurement block and treats the later words as configuration.
